I feel very lucky to be bilingual.
Welsh is my first language. Well, so is English, but I guess I spoke Welsh first as I remember not being able to speak English properly in primary school.
I once said “I want my feet gone” instead of “I want to take my trainers off”. Makes sense. Duh.
I also used to think that Captain John Smith off Pocahontas was called Jan because I couldn’t differentiate between the American accent and the English.
Thing is, I adore it when people who don’t speak Welsh at all come out with a random sentence, like when my friend spontaneously wailed when hungover: “Ooo dwi mor sal!” which means “Oh, I’m so Ill”.
I guess when you’re taught a language in school and learn a few sentences for exams, they stick in your brain for life. For example, my memorable sentence is:
“J’ai construit une barriere” In French. Which means “I built a gate”. Handy for those trips I’ll be embarking on to farm. In France.
I love languages and how people remember funny little sentences. Especially Welsh. Even though it probably sounds like gobbledygook to most, it’s mine.
And I bloody loves it I do!
This video never fails to make me a little bit happier inside. I want to shave off her hair and wear it on my head..
Actually no. Maybe I’ll just be jealous of her instead.

I’ve always had a thing for red heads. It’s probably the Celtic blood flowing through my veins.
I’ve heard it skips generations. Mam’s side of the family are all ginger. I’m not. Fingers crossed, when the time comes, I’ll have little carrot tops running around the place. With fiery tempers.
Gingers forever. x

After scouring through my many photographs, I came to the conclusion that I have a strange and almost subconscious habit of photographing the sky when it’s looking at its most ‘magnifique’. From moonlit night skies to fluorescent sunsets, I snap them all. Like a cloud, sun and moon paparazzi.
I guess I just love the way that something so vast and powerful can be so beautiful. Nature is awesome.
The above photo was taken yesterday on a boring train ride home from Cardiff. I’ve also just bought a new bridge camera for which I constantly give any excuse to use, so this picture just had to happen. And what a lovely happening it was, almost lion king-esque.
And the boring train ride home wasn’t so boring any more.
